BRIAR CREEK -- Customers of First Keystone Community Bank discovered mysterious $150 withdrawals from accounts Saturday.
One customer said $150 was deducted from each of several of his family's checking and savings accounts.
Customers described a lengthy line of disgruntled account holders who descended on the bank's branch office located inside the Giant supermarket Saturday morning in search of answers.
Liliana Henrickson, manager of the branch office inside Giant, said all bank customers, including First Keystone employees who have accounts with the bank, had $150 mistakenly deducted from their accounts.
Saturday afternoon, Henrickson described the glitch as an "internal (computer) error overnight and this morning."
She stressed that accounts were not hacked externally.
"Everything was already fixed," Henrickson said. "Everybody was back to normal."
The bank posted this statement on its website Saturday around noon:
"We have corrected transactions posted in error on August 1, 2014. Internet banking balances should be corrected by the end of the day August 2, 2014."
