If you're looking for a Halloween costume that distastefully exploits the Ebola outbreak, but you don't want to put in the effort to assemble it yourself, your'e in luck!
A website called Brands on Sale is selling Ebola contamination-suit costumes, including a special $60 "sexy" version for ladies. (Get a better look by clicking the picture in the upper right.)
"As the deadly Ebola virus trickles its way through the United States, fighting its disease is no reason to compromise style," the site's product description says. "The short dress and chic gas mask will be the talk of Milan, London, Paris, and New York as the world's fashionistas seek global solutions to hazmat couture."
The costume is starting to draw attention and criticism from major media outlets.
"The sexy Ebola costume is real, and it's horrible," was Mashable's headline Tuesday.
"No, A 'Sexy Ebola Containment Suit' Halloween Costume Is NOT OK," read the headline on the Huffington Post.
But perhaps our favorite came from Salon.com: "The 'Sexy Ebola Containment Suit' Halloween costume proves we are a civilization on the decline "
The getup includes a short white dress, and "Ebola face shield," a breathing mask, goggles and latex gloves. Costume-wearers will have to supply their own boots.
The website suggests the male and female Ebola suits as great couple's costumes.
This makes two Halloween costume controversies in just two days, after Wal-Mart was left scrambling when its website showed a category for "Fat Girl Costumes."
