LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentuckiana parents concerned their kids might be using drugs now have the option of hiring their own drug dog.

The Last Chance K9 Service opened in New Albany, Indiana, in September. Owner Michael Davis tells The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/1pfvx1M) his teams already have searched more than 50 homes in Kentucky and Indiana.

In some instances, they have found nothing. But they have also found plenty of barbiturates, methamphetamines, heroin, marijuana and cocaine. The drugs are hidden in rooms, bathrooms and cars by teens or young adults still living with their parents.

Davis advertises the service with billboards that feature a picture of a German Shepherd and the words, "Our dogs find drugs!"
