WASHINGTON – A congressman who represents parts of Northumberland County, along with Snyder, Union and Lycoming, announced Tuesday that he has endorsed Republican frontrunner Donald Trump for President.

“For the past 10 months, I have listened to political pundits and inside the beltway politicians say that Donald Trump is not a serious candidate, cannot win the Republican nomination and cannot win the Presidency," said Tom Marino, a Republican from the 10th District. "However, Mr. Trump has defied the odds at every turn. It is time that we start listening to what the people want and that is a President Donald Trump. I am proud to give Mr. Trump my full endorsement and support today."

Marino said he particularly supported Trump's focus on addressing illegal immigration.

"I have never seen such excitement and enthusiasm around a candidate in my lifetime. He is able to attract new voters from across the spectrum and that is exactly what our party and country needs. It is time that we put a strong leader in the White House and I believe Donald Trump is the right man for the job," Marino wrote.
