SHAMOKIN -- A state prisoner at Coal Township reached into a toilet to fetch something that had fallen in and got his arm stuck inside the pipe, officials said. Maintenance and emergency teams at the state prison worked for several hours Sunday trying to free the man, the Associated Press reported. They wound up having to remove the toilet from its moorings. The prisoner's arm became stuck Sunday morning when he reached into the toilet to fetch the item that had fallen inside, officials said. They did not say what that item was or if it was recovered. Officials said removing the toilet allowed the man to pull his hand out of a connecting pipe and free his arm. Officials didn't release the prisoner's name.
