COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a baby is dead after a sport utility vehicle veered off a road in Columbus, struck a mailbox and then hit a father who was pushing his 7-month-old boy in a stroller.
Authorities say the baby's 23-year-old father, Kenan Ferebee, initially refused treatment for himself following the Thursday evening crash and went with his child to a children's hospital.
The baby later died at the hospital. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has identified him as Micah Ferebee.
The Columbus father has since been hospitalized in critical condition at another hospital.
The SUV struck a house after hitting the father and son. The 31-year-old driver wasn't hurt and is cooperating with police.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
No charges have been filed.
