STATE COLLEGE – Observers have reported more than 12 inches of snow in the Bloomsburg area, and meteorologists with the National Weather Service expect the snow to keep falling through this afternoon, they say.

Snow's been falling as fast as 1 to 2 inches per hour in the Columbia and Montour region, said meteorologist David Martin. That's about on track with the 12-24 inches that forecasts predicted, Martin said. The forecast currently calls for the snow to let up from mid-to-late afternoon.

Observers had reported snowfall as high as 17 inches in Bloomsburg and 13.5 inches in Lime Ridge.
