DANVILLE -- A broken water main shut down a section of Route 11 between Danville and Mahoning Township Monday. The 12-inch pipe burst just above Dunkin Donuts and the Route 11 car wash sometime before 5 p.m., and water quickly swelled into the roadway. It kept coming, pooling on the north side of the road and running across both lanes, then down the hill to the Smith Metal Works property. Emergency crews shut down Route 11 at Railroad Street in the borough and at Schoolhouse Road in Mahoning Township.
