HUNTINGTON MILLS — The Huntington Valley Fire Co. is collecting donations, gift cards and presents for the Mullins family who lost gifts and other belongings in a Christmas morning fire.

The fire station is located at 1013 State Route 239, north of Shickshinny in Huntington Mills. There are four children: two girls, ages 8 and 10, and two boys, ages 6 and 3.

They began collecting toys and donations around 8:30 a.m., and already had a steady stream of donations.

One woman drove from Bloomsburg, after reading about the fire in the Press Enterprise. She shopped at Renco for the family, buying toys, blankets and scarves.

We'll have more information on the fire and the toy collection effort in tomorrow's edition.
