STATE COLLEGE — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook today for central Pennsylvania, including Columbia and Montour counties.

There may be large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter, according to the NWS office in State College, as well as scattered severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds 60 mph or greater this afternoon and early evening.

The effects of the storm may also be felt in Tioga, Lycoming, Sullivan, Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Schuylkill counties.

But we may be in the clear for the rest of the week, the experts say. "The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low," according to the NWS.
