MIFFLINVILLE -- A tractor-trailer crash closed Interstate 80 eastbound between the Mifflinville and Conyngham interchanges for roughly five hours Monday morning, PennDOT says.

A tractor trailer headed east on the highway, about 5 miles east of the Mifflinville exit went off the left side of the roadway and onto the center median. It then veered back onto the road and rolled onto its driver's side, blocking both lanes of traffic.

Both the driver, Victor H. Agarini, 53, of Paterson, N.J., and passenger Anthony Silva Adalberto, 61, of Wilmington, N.C., who was in the sleeping berth, were taken to the hospital with injuries. Fire and ambulance crews from Valley Regional, Sugarloaf and Berwick.

The crash closed the highway from about 5:20-10 a.m. at mile 248 in Luzerne County.
