Icy Conditions on Roads in Columbia and Montour Counties

Last updated: January 12, 2016 - 8:43pm

PennDOT just issued the release below. It looks like we can expect more problems throughout the night.

MONTOURSVILLE – PennDOT advises motorists in north central Pennsylvania that Columbia and Montour counties are experiencing snow squalls and high winds. Blowing snow is creating ice on the roadways, even those that already have been treated, including Interstate 80.

Motorists are asked to be alert and drive with caution. PennDOT crews will be treating roads in the region throughout the night.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visitingwww.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 770 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
