MAHONING TWP. – A man out of jail for a medical procedure fled Geisinger Medical Center on Thursday morning, police said.

But by Thursday afternoon, Richard Blaine Fobare, 55, was back in police custody, picked up a county away in Union County.

Fobare was on furlough from Tioga County Prison to have a procedure done at Geisinger. But between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a,m, Thursday, he left through the exit of the Hospital for Advanced Medicine, Mahoning Township police said.

He was last seen wearing a camouflage long-sleeve shirt, camouflage pants and black shoes.

Later in the day, he was picked up in Union County. While he was loose, police notified the Danville Area School District and local daycares, they said.

Fobare, of Osceola, Pa., was arrested in October and charged with possession of child pornography; photographing, videotaping and depicting sexual acts on a computer; indecent assault and endangering the welfare of children by Osceola Township police, the Sun-Gazette of Williamsport reported last month. Police say Fobare photographed and touched a 5-month-old girl's genitals, the newspaper reported.
