Millville Road bridge reopens

Last updated: September 19, 2018 - 2:57pm

BLOOMSBURG — Millville Road at the iron bridge has reopened, a month and a week after high waters ripping down Fishing Creek tore up the area.

The waters moved asphalt in the roadway leading to the bridge Aug. 12 and deposited trees and other debris at the bridge.

But after crews repaired the roadway, did minor repair of the bridge and removed the flood debris, the road opened around 2 p.m. Wednesday, PennDOT said.

Some work remains to be done — Shoulder work and line painting will take place Thursday and flaggers will be in place, PennDOT says. Guide rail installation will be performed at a later date.
