BLOOMSBURG — A man told police he was walking down West Main Street on Wednesday afternoon with a $50 bill in his hand when a man came up behind him and struck him in the head, police say.

The alleged assailant took the money and ran off around 1 p.m., the man told police. He told them the attack took place near 142 W. Main St.

The man described his attacker as a "black male, 5-foot-10-inches tall, with a muscular build, wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts," according to a Bloomsburg Police press release.

Town cops ask anyone with information on the case to call them at 570-784-6300.
