BRIAR CREEK -- A man loaded up a shopping basket with $200 in prime cuts of meat then walked out without paying for the haul, police say. Authorities are looking for any information on the crime, including witnesses who were at the Giant supermarket here at the time of the theft, Nov. 30 just after 3:30 p.m. Surveillance cameras captured images of a young white man walking into the grocery store with a list in hand and walking out four minutes later with a basket heaped with steaks and other meat, authorities say. The man appears to be 20-30 years old, wearing a skull cap, a dark fleece zip-up and jeans. Police say it's not uncommon for thieves to steal large quantities of high-quality food to fence at a deep discount then use the cash to feed a drug habit. If you can identify the alleged thief, please call State Police at Bloomsburg, 570-387-4261. Below is a series of surveillance camera shots from the store.
