BLOOMSBURG — Over 600 PPL customers in the west end of Bloomsburg may be without power for the next couple hours due to a tripped breaker or blown fuse at a transformer behind the Dollar General store on Market Street.

Firefighters responded to a transformer fire on West Ninth Street just after noon and reported the outage to PPL.

PPL is sending a crew to make repairs and estimates on its website that power should be restored to 639 customers by 3 p.m. today.
