A heavy rain this afternoon has caused flash flooding around the area, shutting down roads in Montour and Columbia counties.
The Catawissa narrows, Route 42, is shut down just before 5 p.m.. Flooding has also been reported on Bloom Road in Mahoning Township.
It's been an afternoon of weather warnings in the area, with a tornado warning issued just before 4 p.m., and a flash flooding warning in place until 7:45 p.m. We'll bring you reports as we have them.

* At 441 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The
storms were moving to the east and the rain should taper off
before 530 PM EDT. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Northumberland, Mount Carmel, Lewisburg, Kulpmont, Danville,
Milton, Bloomsburg, Rupert and Montandon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

* At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Berwick, Lewisburg, Danville, Mifflinburg, Milton, Bloomsburg,
Northumberland, Mifflinville, Rupert and Montandon.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area
before 6 PM EDT. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
