Missing man found in fatal wreck

SUGARLOAF TWP. — A Sweet Valley man was on his way to a hunting cabin for the weekend when his truck went off the road here, authorities say.

But it wasn’t until days later that Richard A. Kemmerer and his overturned 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche were found in the middle of Fishing Creek along Route 118.

Kemmerer, 47, was last seen by family Friday night, said Columbia County Deputy Coroner Jeremy Resse. He was headed to a Hughesville-area cabin “and he never made it that far.”
