SUGARLOAF TWP. — An Orangeville couple watched in dismay as a bicyclist collapsed and died while he riding past their small cabin in Elk Grove Thursday morning.

Robert Castle, 63, of Benton, was pronounced dead by Columbia County coroner Jeremy Reese just after noon.

“We don’t know if he suffered a medical condition prior to collapsing, or if there was some traumatic injury,” Reese said. 

The cause of death is pending based on the results of the autopsy, he added.
