West Newton Council passed a resolution condemning the use of the fire truck -- and that's about all they're empowered to do because no laws were broken and the borough doesn't control the fire company.

Infant in stroller falls onto Philly train tracks

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A 14-month-old girl who fell onto elevated train tracks when her stroller rolled off the platform was rescued Wednesday by her mother and other passengers, officials said. "What it looks like to us is that the mother became distracted by something, didn't apply the brake on the stroller and the stroller was able to move off the platform and onto the tracks," said Scott Sauer, director of system safety for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.
