DUQUESNE, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a Pittsburgh-area man hit his 79-year-old mother with a vodka bottle before using kitchen knives to fatally stab her.
Fifty-six-year-old Rodney Davis, of Duquesne, was awaiting arraignment early Tuesday on a charge of criminal homicide in the slaying of Marguerite Davis.
According to a criminal complaint, Davis told police that his mother hit him in the hand during an argument before he hit her in the head with the bottle about 3 p.m. Monday.
Davis also told Allegheny County police he went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife to stab his mom, then returned twice more, each time grabbing another knife.
Police say the victim's other son arrived at the house to find his mother on the kitchen floor with two knives in her chest.
Online court records don't list a defense attorney.
