NORRISTOWN (AP) -- Five families have been displaced after a fire damaged at least six homes in eastern Pennsylvania.
Officials say the blaze ripped through the Norristown row houses Sunday afternoon and sent thick black smoke billowing into the air.
It all started just before 1 p.m. when a charcoal grill ignited a fire.
Norristown Battalion Chief Rich Lockhart tells The Times-Herald that the fire spread from the grass to a fence in the rear of a house before reaching the homes. It took about two hours to control the fire.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Lockhart says the Red Cross is assisting the five families in finding accommodations.
