HEMLOCK TWP. — A witness spotted a man stealing from a vehicle, but the thief fled before police arrived.

Now officers are seeking information about the thief and reminding residents to lock their vehicles.

The call came in at 5:26 a.m. Monday, said Ptlm. Harold Morris.

A black-haired man wearing a Carhart jacket and jeans was seen breaking into a vehicle on Hunt Club Drive.

While investigating that report, police learned several other vehicles on Hunt Club Drive and Red Mill Road had been entered.

All of the entered vehicles had been left unlocked, police said.

Morris asked anyone who sees suspicious activity or people to call 9-1-1, and asked anyone with information about the thefts to call Hemlock Township Police at 570-784-6543.
