Man charged with shooting gun near pregnant girlfriend
NUMIDIA -- A 22-year-old man was jailed late Sunday after firing a handgun several times during a domestic argument with his pregnant girlfriend, arrest papers say.
Christopher H. Cooper, 22, of 1156 Numidia Drive, was drunk and suicidal at the time and hoped police would show up, saying, "That way I don't have to do it myself," the girlfriend told officers.
Jennifer Beishline told police that she was standing so close when Cooper began firing a .380-caliber pistol that she was hit in the arm by a spent shell casing but not injured.
