Woman dies in three-vehicle crash

NESCOPECK – A woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on the southern approach to the Berwick-Nescopeck bridge here.

According to witnesses, a white Jeep Compass was traveling towards Berwick on Route 93 when, for unknown reasons, it swerved into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

After colliding, the Jeep richochetted and was struck by a Dodge Charger that was also heading for Berwick, police said.

Duo allegedly rob lobby at Red Roof

VALLEY TWP. — Police are looking for two men who they say took part in the hold up of a lobby clerk at the Red Roof Inn here early Wednesday.

State Police at Milton said that around 1:30 a.m., a Black man, roughly 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-5, came in to the lobby of the Red Roof Inn at 21 Red Roof Road, Valley Township, holding a small black crowbar. He demanded cash from the desk clerk and then left.

Talen sells data center for $650M to Amazon

SALEM TWP. — Talen is selling its data center business — and a bunch of the power from the Susquehanna nuclear power plant north of Berwick — to Amazon Web Services, it announced on Monday morning.

The $650 million deal has the potential to create the largest data center powered by "carbon-free power" in the United States, or possibly the world, said Talen CEO Mark "Mac" McFarland in a investor conference call.
